Blackrock Lays Groundword For Ethereum ETF By Registering An Ethereum Trust

B

BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, has registered an iShares Ethereum Trust in Delaware, sparking speculation about the potential launch of an Ethereum ETF. While the registration doesn't indicate an immediate ETF filing, it follows a pattern seen before BlackRock's application for a Bitcoin ETF.

The company submitted a similar registration a week before its Bitcoin ETF application. The market loved this news and ETH pumped 10% yesterday and broke $2100 on more concrete news of an ETF from arguably the most established asset management firm in the world.

Analysts note the SEC's window of just over a week to potentially approve 12 Bitcoin ETF applications, while Grayscale has also filed to convert its Ethereum Trust into a spot ETF, signaling increasing interest in Ethereum ETFs. If this isn’t proof to you that we’re in a bull market, I don’t know what to tell you.

Ubisoft Partners With Immutable To Create The Web3 Gaming Experience

Ubisoft, the renowned game publisher, is delving deeper into blockchain gaming through a collaboration with Immutable, a crypto infrastructure and gaming company. Immutable is best known for their game ā€˜Gods Unchained’ on Ethereum which is a trading card game.

Together, Ubisoft and Immutable aim to create a "Web3 gaming experience," leveraging Immutable's Immutable X layer-2 blockchain. The partnership seeks to offer players "digital ownership" using on-chain assets and a seamless integration of crypto elements into gaming projects.

While the announcement lacks specific details, it shows how Ubisoft continues to explore NFTs and blockchain gaming. This comes after previous initiatives involving Rabbids NFTs, Tezos NFTs for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and the development of a tactical RPG, Champions Tactics, on the Oasys blockchain.

Courtyard Brings Tokenized PokƩmon Cards On-Chain

Courtyard, a platform for vaulting collectible cards, is distributing hundreds of mystery card packs containing tokenized PokĆ©mon cards through Decrypt's GG. Each digital pack includes an NFT linked to a graded PokĆ©mon card, allowing trading or redemption for the physical version stored by vaulting firm Brink’s.

If we learned anything from the bull run of 2021, it’s that people love NFTs. If we were to see this as an NFT of an RWA so to speak, it could be another way in which users aim to speculate on an asset. The PokĆ©mon cards encompass vintage base set cards, modern cards, and promo cards.

Courtyard will be working with Privy and Chimpers to distribute 400 packs for free across four daily drops. The initiative builds on Courtyard's successful previous drops, tokenizing $200,000 worth of graded PokƩmon cards as NFTs.
